HR-News 241222 – Health Literacy is a human rights concern

Health literacy is a human rights concern is a new report launched by Council of Europe which applies the human rights approach to health literacy and showcases the gaps and needs concerning people in vulnerable situations.

Exploring 17 different population groups it reveals a compounded impact of barriers and discrimination on people’s health and well-being, particularly those that are left behind. Moving forward, the report discusses how health literacy can be strengthened with a systemic approach to reduce barriers and empower people to live healthier and more fulfilling lives in accordance with human rights.
